PURPOSE:To set an accurate profile copying region and to shorten a copying work time of profile copying by setting the profile copying region by means of a plurality of broken lines, effecting pickfeed when a stylus is moved to the broken line, and machining a work by profile copying. CONSTITUTION:By assigning points Pa and P2, a copying control device produces a broken line 43 as a first limit line. Similarly, a broken line 44 is assigned by a point P2 (x2, z2) and a point P4 (x4, z4), and the copying control device produces a second limit line. By assigning a coordinate value z1 of a Z-axis, a broken line 45 is set as a third limit line by the control device. A stylus 5 performs profile copying along a line 51. When the stylus 5 is moved to the broken line 44, pickfeed operation is effected along a line 52 on the broken line 44, and consecutively profile copying is executed in a reverse direction along a line 53. |
