<p>This invention relates to an improved paint or paint base composition characterized by enhanced biocidal efficacy. The paint or paint base composition is essentially free of tin, lead, and vanadium and contains a biocide comprising pyrithione salt and a copper salt. The pyrithione salt is present in the paint in an amount of between about 5 % and about 50 %, and the copper salt is present in an amount of between about 5 % and about 50 %, the total amount of biocide being between about 10 % and about 75 %, based upon the total weight of the paint composition.</p> |
