Colour photographic recording materials have at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a DIR-coupler of general formula (I), where R1 = H, Cl, CF3, alkoxy, acylamino or sulphamoyl; R2 = Cl, alkyl, cycloalyl, alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl or carbamoyl; n = 0-2; X = O or S; Y = a gp. releasable on colour developing which affords the release of the silver halide development inhibiting mercapto cpds. which may be inert in the developing bath; and Z = a quinazoline-4-on-2-yl gp.. ADVANTAGE - The edge effect and the inter-image effect are enhanced.
