Low pressure casting plant has casting machine arranged above portable frame mounted melting furnace and uses two or more interchangeable furnaces per casting machine to provide a quick-change system when one furnace is inoperative. - The electric, pref. inductive, melting or holding furnace (4) is mounted in a standard lifting frame (6) and connected to casting machine (3) by vertical riser pipe (5). Casting machine (3) is mounted above the work platform (8) on the furnace frame with location points and quick-release connections.
