摘要 The engine has an extended stroke with extended piston (1) and bore (8) lengths, on the underside of the piston. The induction stroke causes clean air to be drawn through the bypass channel (10) into the combustion chamber. With the piston at the top of the compression stroke, air is allowed into the resulting chamber (23) at the piston base via an inlet channel (9). Upon ignition, the piston returns, compressing the gases below it. Air is once more drawn into the cylinder via the bypass channel, causing secondary combustion of CH= and CO-emissions, which oxidise to form harmless HO and CO gases. The exhaust stroke simultaneously draw some of the exhaust gases into the base chamber (23), causing further combustion to reduce the NO=emissions. The air mixture is set via a device (25) in the bypass inlet channel connected to the injection system. ADVANTAGE - Additional regulated air flow to provide secondary combustion.
