PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent playback picture without deterioration of signal, by increasing carrier frequency of a video signal in angular modulation and recording it on a master recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A video signal having subjected to angular modulation at a modulator 2 is shifted up for the carrier frequency by a prescribed frequency at a frequency converter 3. This video signal is recorded on a master tape MT via a recording head 5. The video signal obtained from the tape MT through a playback head 7 is applied to a frequency converter 9. This converter 9 steps down the carrier frequency of the input signal to convert the frequency for normal recording at the VTR of slave side. This output is recorded on a slave tape ST via a recording head 12. Thus, the high quality video signal can be obtained from the playback head 7, an excellent playback picture without signal deterioration can be obtained from the slave tape ST. |
