<p>Disclosed is a display apparatus (10) including a display panel assembly (19) in which a flexible panel (15) has attached thereto rigidifying beams (20). The rigidifying beams (20) have a plurality of hinged strips (21, 22, 23) which are attached to the panel (15) along its longitudinal edges. Magnetic strips (25) are provided for maintaining the rigidifying beams (20) in their operative state. The rigidified display panel assembly (19) may be used to connection with a collapsible support framework (11) constructed of tubes including upper hubs (32). Mounted upon the collapsible support framework (11) is a plurality of light sources (16) so as to produce a backlighting effect behind the panel (15). Secured to the collapsible support framework (11) and terminating at its ends (12, 13) is covering of opaque material (14). A free-standing configuration of the display panel assembly (37) is also disclosed.</p> |
