POLYESTER CONTAINER AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PURPOSE:To obtain the modified PET container having excellent heat-shrinkage resistance by using compound mixed of PET resin of more than 0.5 inrinsic viscosity and polycarbonate resin. CONSTITUTION:Compound of which polyethyleneterephthalate (PET) resin (A) of more than 0.5 intrinsic viscosity and polycarbonate resin (B) are mixed and melted in weight ratio of about 0.5<=B/A<=1 is injection molded as a bottomed hollow perform in the mold set at the temperature below Tg point. This preform is below molded in the temperature range enabling stretch over Tg and a PET container is obtained. Volume contraction of the container is less than 2%, even though it is filled with 90 deg.C hot water and left to stand on cooling.
