PURPOSE:To prepare the title compsn. improved in mechanical properties, such as impact and bending strengths, by compounding an aminated and/or amidated polyarylene sulfide, an epoxy resin, and a filler. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. aminated and/or amidated polyarylene sulfide (e.g. an aminated polyphenylene sulfide or an amidated polyphenylene sulfide), 0.05-5 pts.wt. epoxy resin, and 5-400 pts.wt. filler (e.g. a glass fiber treated with an aminosilane surface treating agent) are compounded to give the title compsn., which has improved mechanical properties, such as impact and bending strengths, while retaining the excellent heat and flame resistance inherent to a polyarylene sulfide. |
