The inlay (9) for a ski which comprises a multi-layered upper band and a lower band with a core (4) in between has spaced out from each other in the longitudinal direction transverse web parts (14,15) of a distance web (13). The web parts (14,15) are connected in the longitudinal direction of the inlay by connecting webs (18) forming part of the distance web (13) or by a distance member (21) having a reduced thickness (27) than the distance web (13). The transverse web parts can be held relative to each other. ADVANTAGE - Prefabricated bands and cores can be used wherein the connecting layer between same has sufficient bearing strength.
