The tightener for joining a shaft and hub, consists of concentric inner (1) and outer 82) sleeves which can be radially splayed apart by expander threads (3-6) on their facing surfaces and activated by axially parallel screws (8-11) spaced evenly over their periphery. The sleeves have stops (12,13) inside for the screws. A radial gap is positioned between the two sleeves near the expander threads. USE/ADVANTAGE - The tensioner can be re-used and is rotationally symmetrical and adjustably clamped.
