The claw coupler has a claw swinging in a horizontal plane into engagement with a fixed hook in the other half from the side, whose bolt has a pin protruding downwards, lifted by an uncoupling member in a section of track into a free position. There is an inner arm on the claw at right angles to the outer one engaging the hook. The bolt is at the outer edge of the claw, and when lifted free, a guide swings it inwards into a support portion.
