At least one low loss current source (R1, C1) is inserted in one of the mains supply lines for a rectifier stage (GL) with a limiting stage (BS) in parallel. The limiting stage uses a controlled switch (S1) connected across the outputs of the rectifier stage (G2) and with its control input coupled to a regulator (R) for maintaining a required current or voltage output. Pref. the regulator uses an operational amplifier circuit. USE/ADVANTAGE - Industrial application. Large part can be in integrated circuit form.
