Computer controlled positioning appts. - has drive carriage coupled to two threaded spindles for displacing drive rods

The positioning appts. for a unit on drive rods uses two single drives alternately. A drive carriage (5a,6a) is adjustably mounted on each of two threaded spindles (10,11) forming part of the drives. The parallel spindles are threaded in the same way and rotated in opposite directions. Both carriages are alternately displaceable from one end position to the other. Each is rigidly attached to a drive rod (8,9). The unit (7) to be positioned can be alternately coupled to one of the two drives via the drive rods. USE/ADVANTAGE - For positioning of a unit over large distances e.g. 6m without the unit needing integral drives.
