The storage and transporting tray for wire cages placed over the corks of bottles of sparkling wine holds the cagesa stacked inside each other. Each cage consists of a head (1) from which slope legs (2) bent round a ring (3) which has a round bulge in for twisting. The tray is in the form of a plastics trough (5) with parallel grooves in, each of which has a concave base (7) matching the shape of the cage's bulge (4). Both sides of the base have wide parts (8) spaced-apart from the rings. Between the wide parts are struts (9) joining the parallel grooves (6) the bases of which have a grid of conical protuberances (10) matching recesses (11) in the struts. Recesses (12) in at least one groove-end take the cage-heads. USE/ADVANTAGE - The stacking tray prevents the contents of bottle-cork wire cages from being misshapen.
