Articles or films are prepd. by thermoplastic shaping of poly-condensn. prods. (I) at at least 30 deg.C., (I) being prepd. by reaction of (A) isocyanate prepolymer having phenol-blocked NCO gps. with (B) polyamine component comprising of at least one polyamine contg. 2 or more reactive amino-H atoms per mol. and opt. (C) epoxide component comprising of at least one polyglycidyl cpd., and/or opt. with use of (D) auxiliaries and additives conventional in polyurethane chemistry. More specifically, (I) may contain up to 80% inert fillers and/or reinforcing materials and is in form of slabs prepd. by reacting starting materials in closed mould by reaction-injection casting techniques or by casting on flat, horizontal, aligned substrate. Pref. slabs are shaped by deep-drawing or pressing. Or (I) may also comprise granules or powder. USE/ADVANTAGE - E.g., hollow articles as containers; coverings for instrument boards or switch consoles; flat parts for motor vehicles chassis elements such as wings, also seat shells; display boards, protective films, backrests; stiffening elements, leisure articles; profiles for cable channels; also covering of other plastics, including foams for interior fitting of motor cars, etc.. Very good mechanical properties of (I) are substantially retained on thermoplastic shaping, independently of presence or absence of fillers and/or reinforcing materials.
