PURPOSE:To properly control the speed change of an engine according to the change of the temperature of the hydraulic oil of a torque converter by selecting the first speed change control pattern when the temperature of the torque con verter is lower than the set temperature, and when a timer times-up, and switching the first pattern to the second speed change control pattern. CONSTITUTION:The CPU of a speed change gear control unit 5 makes a multi stage transmission 4 select the speed change pattern corresponding to the cooling time of an engine 1 until the temperature of the hydraulic oil of a torque con verter 3 rises up to the specified temperature before a timer times-up after the start of the engine 1 or from the start of the engine 1 to the timing-up of the timer. On the other hand, when the timer times-up after the start of the engine 1, the CPU makes the speed change gear 4 the normal speed change pattern. In such manner, the higher the temperature of the hydraulic oil at the time when the engine 1 starts is, the shorter the controlling time by the speed change pattern at the time of cooling the engine 1 becomes, which leads to the proper control of the multi-speed change gear 4 by the temperature of the hydraulic oil of the torque converter 3. |
