Atomising nozzle for oil burner - has second nozzle which injects steam into oil outlet nozzle

The burner has an atomising nozzle which has a central duct (4) for oil which is surrounded by parallel passageways for steam. The fuel flows out through a nozzle (7) in which it is atomised by a jet of steam from a second nozzle (8). This second nozzle (8) is fitted in an annular chamber (6) which is supplied with steam. The steam flows into the second nozzle (8) through radial holes (10) in the nozzle wall. Some fuel flows into this second nozzle through passageways (14,15) which connect it to the central duct (4). USE/ADVANTAGE - The nozzle can atomise fuels with a high viscosity.
