A melt spinning head has a distribution block with polymer feed channels ending in several outlets. Connecting pieces and spinning packs are of two kinds. In one kind there are several channels leading to individual spinneret feed chambers while in the other kind the connecting piece has several channels which all lead to a single spinneret feed chamber. Each spinneret feed chamber can have a sealing piston with an axial bore which meets the appropriate feed channel. USE/ADVANTAGE - The spinning head can be adapted for different types of yarn by changing only a few components.
