An elastic terminal for car plugs that is inserted into a cigarette lighter socket of an automobile to supply power for various devices. The elastic terminal can be held very stably even when the socket has a different diameter depending on car manufacturers. The car plug has a cylindrical body for a small socket typical in Japanese cars. The elastic terminal fitted to the car plug has a washer-like base portion to fit the tip of the cylindrical body, and has at least three plate-like pieces that radially extend equidistantly from the periphery of the base portion, each plate-like piece having a base end folded nearly at right angles in nearly the same direction to form an insertion portion inserted in the drum at the end and a resilient contact formed by outwardly bending a portion between the insertion portion and the base portion to swell beyond the circumference of the drum. Even when the car plug designed for use for small sockets typical in Japanese cars is inserted into a large socket of a European car, the elastic terminal produces elastic pressure radially so that the car plug is held reliably to effect stable electrical connection. |
