PURPOSE:To obtain inexpensively the title substance which is highly effective as pour point depressant by selecting a polymer compound which is obtained by applying specific treatment to a higher fatty acid, a higher alcohol mixture, an ester thereof or a mixture of the above three components with fat or oil. CONSTITUTION:A higher fatty acid, a higher alcohol mixture, esters thereof or a mixture of the above three components with fat or oil (e.g. beeswax) is polymerized by heating while partially carrying out oxidative decomposition (e.g. heating while bubbling air) to yield a polymer compound to be used as the title substance. |
