A communications network (500) is adapted to provide communication between control modules (502A, 502B, 502C) on a vehicle. Each control module (502A, 502B, 502C) includes a first and second transceiver (504, 506). A control module (502A, 502B, 502C) checks for the presence of a data message from another control module (502A, 502B, 502C) before transmitting a data message. If there is no other data message present, the control module (502A, 502B, 502C) transmits the data message around the network (500) in both directions using the first and second transceivers (504, 506). The other control modules (502A, 502B, 502C) receive the data message from the previous control module (502A, 502B, 502C) and pass the data message to the next control module (502A, 502B, 502C) in the network (500). |
