摘要 New cubic delta-Bi2O3 (I) contg. V, with the crystal structure of CaF2, has a superstructure with 8 times the elementary cell edge. Pref. (I) has lattice constants in the region a0 = 43.95-44.01 A and molar compsn. in the range: 5Bi2O3.1V2O5-6Bi2O3.1V2O5. (I) is prepd. by treating crystalline Bi vanadate, having the compsn. BiVO4, with aq. alkali soln.. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) used as ion conductor and pigment base material. It has the 8x8x8 superstructure of the CaF2 lattice, extreme phase purity and extremely good crystallinity. It can be made very economically, making it esp. useful in the electrical industry.
