<p>A spacing means (24, 124) for a paper binding device (10) for maintaining the covers (12, 14) of the device (10) in a substantially parallel relation to provide for easy storage thereof. The spacing means (24, 124) comprises a base portion (26, 126) adapted to be affixed to the inside surface of one of the binder covers (12, 14) and a spacing portion (28, 128) extending substantially transversely from the base portion (26, 126) and adapted to engage the inside surface of the opposite cover (12, 14) when the covers (12, 14) are closed. The spacing portion (28) preferably includes means for adjusting its length defined by a plurality of notches (30) spaced along the length thereof to accommodate binding devices (10) of different size. The spacing means (28, 128) is further preferably provided with adhesive means (32) arranged on the underside of the base portion (26, 126) for affixing the spacing means (28, 128) to an inside surface of the binder cover (12, 14).</p> |
