PURPOSE:To obtain the subject additive, capable of protecting a biologically active substance from the gastric juice in the rumen of a ruminant and releasing the substance in digestive organs of the abosamum and thereafter by coating the biologically active substance with a low melting oily substance, then adding metal salt powder of a higher aliphatic monocarboxylic acid thereto and granulating the resultant mixture. CONSTITUTION:The objective feed additive obtained by coating a biologically active substance such as an amino acid with an oily substance having <40 deg.C melting point, then adding powder prepared from a metal salt (e.g. calcium, magnesium or zinc salt of octanoic acid, palmitic acid or stearic acid) of a >=8C aliphatic monocarboxylic acid thereto and granulating the resultant mixture. Furthermore, the amounts thereof used based on 100 pts.wt. biologically active substance are preferably 1-1000 pts.wt. oily substance and 3-1500 pts.wt. metal salt of the aliphatic carboxylic acid. |
