[Class 65 (ii)] A mounting for casement windows or fanlights comprises a pair of plates e, j, and a pair of bars a, b, pivoted together in permanent foursided relationship, the plates being attached to or integral with the frame and sash respectively and the parts being so arranged that in the fully open position one bar b lies substantially in line with the plate on the sash while the other bar a lies approximately perpendicular to the plate e on the frame. In the form shown the plate is formed of angle bar and its vertical flange is formed at the ends into lugs to strengthen the pivotal attachment of the bars a, b to its horizontal flange, the bars a, b being cranked to lie above this horizontal flange. The plates and bars are formed so as to give ample bearing area between the parts adjacent to the pivots to avoid sag. The pivots of the bars a, b to the fixed plate e may be provided with clamping screws. |
