摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain improved image quality by rectifying the rays emitted from picture elements and diffusing the rays to widen a visual field angle. CONSTITUTION:A ray rectifying layer 13 is constituted of many tunnel structure parts 13a which are cylindrical holes corresponded to the respective picture elements 9a and a lens layer 14 is constituted of many concave lenses 14a corresponded to the respective picture elements 9a. Of the rays entering the ray rectifying layer 13, the rays in the directions exclusive of the optical axis direction O of the respective picture elements 9a are absorbed or reflected by the inner peripheral cylindrical surfaces 13b of the respective tunnel structure parts 13a, by which these rays are annihilated and are rectified only to the parallel rays f2 nearly parallel with the optical axis direction O. The parallel rays f2 entering the lens layer 14 are radially diffused by the respective concave lenses 14a to diffused rays f3 which are emitted to the outside. The max. diffusion angle of the diffused rays f3 is the visual angle theta and the good monitor images, etc., are visible within the visual angle theta. The deterioration in the image quality by the direction of the liquid crystal orientation is obviated in this way and good image quality is obtd.
