PURPOSE:To enable an electric charge amount of a toner to be controlled continuously and quantitatively without staining a photosensitive body and a carrier by mixing an amine derivative or a phenol derivative with the toner and introducing ozone or ultraviolet rays. CONSTITUTION:The charge amount to be applied to the toner is controlled by mixing the amine derivative or phenol derivative with the toner and introducing ozone or ultraviolet rays. When the toner is exposed to ozone, since the ozone becomes a donor and the toner becomes an acceptor, the toner is liable to be negatively charged, and the positive toner tends to decrease in the absolute value of the charge amount, and the negative toner tends to increase. When the toner is exposed to the ultraviolet rays, since the toner is oxidized and liable to become negative, the positive toner tends to decrease and the negative toner tends to increase, thus permitting a favorable charge controlling effect to be obtained. |
