PURPOSE:To economically change over from bladder type vulcanizer to bladderless type one by a method wherein a lower ceder mechanism is changed and, at the same time, an upper bead ring is changed by vertically moving an upper center mechanism. CONSTITUTION:On a lower platen 4, which supports a lower mold 3, a lower center mechanism 44 for a bladder type vulcanizer and a lower center mechanism 11 for a bladderless type vulcanizer are provided changeably. On an upper platen 23, which supports an upper mold 22, an upper center mechanism 26 for the bladderless type vulcnizer is provided vertically movably between its use position and its upper retreated position. Further, on the upper mold 22, an upper bead ring 48 for the bladder type vulcanizer and an upper bead ring 29 for the bladderless type vulcanizer are provided changeably. Accordingly, in the case of the baldderless type vulcanizer, the upper center mechanism 26 is lowered to its use position so as to pressingly hold the upper and the lower bead parts of a green tire with the upper center mechanism 11 for vulcanization. In the case of the bladder type vulcanizer, under the condition that the upper center mechanism 26 is raised to its retreated position, the upper bead ring 48 for the bladder type vulcanizer is mounted to the upper mold 22 for vulcanization. |
