The object of the invention is a sight associated with a light source with a capacity to make the sight luminous, the invention being characterized in that the sight consists of at least one fibre wire made of light- conducting material and arranged in such a manner in relation to a support arrangement 3 that a portion of the fibre wire 4, preferably consisting of or comprising its opposite end in relation to the light source, forms at least a portion of the sight, which, by transmission of light from the light source via the interior of the wire, can be made luminous. The invention also includes a method of producing sights from fine light-conducting fibres 4, the method being characterized in that a large number of fine fibres made of light-conducting material are positioned next to one another in a box or the like so that they form a relatively rigid bundle of straight parallel fibres, which bundle is cut, preferably at an angle of 45 in relation to the longitudinal axes of the fibres, after which the at least one cut surface of the bundle is polished so that the cut end of each individual fibre is in this way polished, and the fibres are freed from one another, and a sight is produced from a fibre thus freed by arranging with its one end associated with a light source and supporting it or suspending it in a suitable holder. <IMAGE> |
