PURPOSE:To obtain a stable antimicrobial composition having strong antimicrobial force and reduced in amount of sterilizing metal used by forming an antimicrobial film of aluminosilicate containing a metal ion having sterilizing action on the surface of silica gel. CONSTITUTION:The aimed antimicrobial composition obtained by applying antimicrobial film of aluminosilicate containing a metal ion having sterilizing action to the surface of silica gel. The antimicrobial composition has preferably at least 0.3cm<3>/g pore volume and at least 100m<2>/g specific surface area. The metal ion having sterilizing action includes silver, copper, zinc, tin, lead, bismuth, cadmium or chromium and total amount of these metals ion exists preferably at amount of at least 0.003mm mol per 100m surface area of anhydrous antimicrobial composition. The antimicrobial polymer composition can be formed by blending the above-mentioned antimicrobial composition with a polymer. The antimicrobial composition is preferably blended at an amount of 0.01-20wt.% based on whole polymer composition. |
