PURPOSE:To form an image at high speed without making an image forming device lorge sized by changing the speed of a second driving means corresponding to a vari able magnification rate, and setting the speed adjusting range of a first driving means narrow corresponding to this change. CONSTITUTION:The speed of the carriage 2 of an optical system at the time of unmagnification is set based on the using method of a copying machine, and the speed is changed according to the variable magnification to fix the speed of a photosen sitive body 11. While, the speed of the photosensitive body 11 is changed to carry out the variable magnification in a prescribed magnification rate range. After the power source of the copying machine is turned on and homing is carried out, a mode is set. To carry out the variable magnification in the scanning and vertical directions of the optical system, a second carriage 5 and a lens 8 are moved at the position of 25%, and a printing key is depressed, so that the photosensitive body 11 is driven at the prescribed speed, and a belt 14, and a fixing roller 13 are driven at the same speed, as well. A paper feeding roller 19 is rotated after a prescribed time lapses, as well. A transfer sheet is sent to a roller 15 and an exposing lamp 3 is turned on. The carriage 2 is scanned at the prescribed speed and the roller 15 is driven to transfer the image. |
