PURPOSE:To widen a contact area and to improve picture quality by constituting a recording medium so as to cross a line, which connects a point firstly separated from a guide member with a point in contact with the guide member on a downstream side, at an angle other than a right angle and bending the recording medium along the outer peripheral shape of a photosensitive belt. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate transfer roller 16 crosses a line, which connects a point where a belt 9 is firstly separated from a roller 9b with a point where the belt 9 is firstly brought into contact with a roller 9a on the down stream side, at an angle other than a right angle on an upstream side in the carrying direction of the intermediate transfer belt 9 on a line connecting the center of a driving roller 2 with the center of the roller 16. Simultaneously, the roller 16 is provided on a side where an organic conductive body (OPC) belt 1 is separated from the belt 9. With this constitution, when toner sticking onto the belt 1 is transferred onto the belt 9, the belt 9 is pushed toward the belt 1 by the roller 16 and the transfer voltage is impressed on the roller 16. Thus, the belt 9 is bent to be a curved surface along the outer peripheral shape of the belt 1, the contact area is widened and the picture quality is improved. |
