Cold-washing compsn. contains esp. 1-5 (2-4) wt.% combination of (1) N-contg. surface active cpds. consisting of fatty acid ethanolamides and alkoxylated 12-18C alkylamines and (2) a specific silicone oil-contg. foam inhibitor. The foam-inhibitor consists of a polydimethyl siloxane mixt. having, according to gel permeation chromatography, 2 mol. wt. maxima in the 50000 range, w.r.t. polystyrene standard; was activated with water-repellent SiO2 and has viscosity eta = 10000-40000 mPa.sec. at 25 deg.C. The N-contg. surface active cpds. pref. consist of satd. or unsatd. 12-18C fatty acid ethanolamides, as single cpds. or technical mixts. and the corresp. diethanolamides or poly-diethanolamides as well as of the satd. or unsatd. 12-18C alkyl-amines alkoxylated with 1-5 mol- alkylene oxide.
