PURPOSE:To facilitate extremely handling and to rotate a recording medium at a high speed in the stable rotary state by installing an aeration means for aerating a space between a thin film-like recording medium and a supporting substrate in the vicinity of a center in said recording medium. CONSTITUTION:In terms of the supporting substrate B, a joint 5 made of a ferromagnetic material is fitted in and bonded in the center of a main body 4 composed of a plate body made of nonmagnetic material. A recording layer 1r is constituted on a the thin-film-like recording medium A having recording layer 1r constituted on its surface 1 and the flexibility and the supporting substrate B which retains the flatness of the surface without modification at high speed rotation and has appearance similar to the substrate A are formed into one body by adhering the inner peripheral rear side than the position where aeration holes 3, 3... of the recording medium A to the corresponding part of the supporting substrate B. When a rotary drive mechanism rotates the rotary recording medium over 1,000rpm per min, for instance, an air cushion caused by the thin layer of air arises between the thin film-like recording medium A and the supporting substrate B, and the former can execute the high speed rotation in the state where its surface is flat. |
