PURPOSE:To stop a focusing lens group at a limit position without overrunning by previously storing the limit position of the focusing lens group, detecting an absolute position so that a driving quantity to the limit position is calculated and driving the focusing lens group based on the driving quantity. CONSTITUTION:A position detecting means 4 for detecting the absolute position of the focusing lens group 13 and a storing means 5 for storing the limit position of the lens group 13 are provided to decide whether or not the absolute position of the lens group 13 is in the vicinity of the limit position by using a vicinity decision means 6. Then, a difference between the absolute position of the lens group 13 and the limit position is calculated as the driving quantity of the lens group 13 to a target position by a driving quantity calculation means 7. Thus, even when the driving quantity to the focusing position exceeds the limit position, the focusing lens group 13 is stopped at the limit position without overrunning. |
