The engine comprises contactless silica glass pistons moving in cylinders of the same material, there being two pistons joined to a common connecting rod, the guiding of which is via air bearings. Leakage through the ring gap between pistons and cylinders is sucked away through a further ring gap and through the hollow connecting rod, mixed with incoming fresh air via a stabilising conical ring. The use of air bearings in the engine is possible since no operative components influence the straight line movement. The crank bolts taking up gas force describe an absolutely straight line, and rotate thus with constant angle speed in the roller bearing of the connecting rod with two pistons at each end.
