<p>PURPOSE:To prepare the title compsn. excellent in the light resistance and low-temp. solubility by compounding a lithium salt of C.I. Acid Red 37, a water- sol. org. solvent, and water, and keeping the inorg. salt content in the resulting compsn. at a specified low level. CONSTITUTION:A lithium salt of C.I. Acid Red 37 (obtd. by washing a commercially available C.I. Acid Red 37 dye in an aq. HCl soln. and neutralizing it with LiOH soln.), a water-sol. org. solvent (e.g. ethylene glycol or methyl carbitol), and water are compounded in such a manner that the inorg. salt content in the resulting compsn. is kept under 0.5wt.%, giving a red ink compsn. The commercially available C.I. Acid Red 37 dye, though light-resistant, has a poor solubility, which is improved by converting the dye into a lithium salt. In addition, keeping the inorg. salts contents, one reason for dye precipitation, under 0.5wt.% contributes to give a red ink compsn. excellent in the low-temp. solubility.</p> |
