PURPOSE:To enable mass-production and to reduce the price by using a prism which is made of transparent rubber as an optical element for optical path switching. CONSTITUTION:This optical switch is equipped with lenses 13 - 15 which couple an input-side optical fiber 10 with output-side optical fibers 11 and 12 and the prism 16 which is made of the transparent rubber and switches optical paths. The prism 16 is fixed at its one end and movable at the other end through a driving mechanism 20. Namely, since an operation end member 18 is driven with a signal of a driven circuit and an incident angle is relatively changed by the deformation of the prism 16, the optical path is switched by refraction. The optical switch is easily formed by using the transparent rubber made prism 16 as an optical element for switching optical path in this way. Thus the mass- production becomes possible and the optical switch is reducible in price. |
