Consolidation of loose soil - by injecting liq. cement into soil with aid of compressed air

The method is for compacting and reinforcing loose soil so that it can support the loads imposed on it. A hole is bored in the soil by a drill (5) which has a cutting tip (7). The drill shaft is enclosed in a housing and liquid cement from a pipe (3) is injected into the housing together with compressed air through a pipe (4). The cement is sprayed from radial nozzles (9) into the surrounding soil. At the same time water is pumped into the soil from a pump (12). The cement is reinforced with fibres which may be in the form of steel needles cut from steel wire unwound from a coil (14). USE - Consolidation of loose soil.
