PURPOSE:To improve the manufacturability and corrosion resistance of an Fe-Cr-Al steel without deteriorating its oxidation resistance by adding specified amounts of Ca and rare earths to an Fe-Cr-Al steel and reducing the amt. of Cr therein. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. of an oxidation-resistant steel is formed of, by weight, <=0.05% C, <=1.0% Si, <=1.0% Mn, 3 to 7.5% Cr, 4.5 to 6.0% Al, 0.001 to 0.2% total of Ca, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd and Hf and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. If required, 0.01 to 0.3% Zr is furthermore incorporated therein. By the addition of Ca and rare earths, the peeling resistance of oxidized scales is secured and its toughness is improved. Furthermore, by the addition of Zr, the peeling resistance of an oxidized film is improved and its oxidation resistance is improved. This Fe-Cr-Al oxidation-resistant steel is useful for the combustion-exhaust system parts of internal and external combustion equipments, boilers, trash incineration furnaces or the like exposed to severe oxidation in a high temp. oxidizing atmosphere.
|
