PURPOSE:To efficiently produce conductive coke fines reduced in electric resistivity at a low cost by applying direct plating to non-pretreated coke fines by the use of an electroless plating bath in which a surfactant is added and metallizing respective surfaces of the grains of the coke fines. CONSTITUTION:Direct electroless plating is applied to coke fines (<= about 100mu average grain size) which are not subjected to pretreatment, such as application of catalyst, at a temp. between room temp. and about 100 deg.C for about 10-60min by using an electroless plating bath in which a surfactant (of sulfonic acid type, etc.) is added by about 0.01-5wt.%. After electroless plating treatment is finished, the plated material is filtered and air-dried by the ordinary method, by which the conductive coke fines in which respective surfaces of the grains are metallized can be obtained. These coke fines are useful, e.g. for conductive filler for electromagnetic wave shielding plate. |
