PURPOSE:To avoid the temperature rise of superconducting wire material, and obtain a superconducting coil apparatus capable of preventing the quenching phenomenon caused by friction heat, by coating an insulating film interposing between coil layers with material of high thermal conductivity. CONSTITUTION:In a superconducting coil apparatus wherein a superconducting coil of a plurality of layers in constituted by interposing insulating plates 2 between the layers, said insulating films 2 are coated with material 5 of high thermal conductivity. In this constitution, when a current is applied to the superconducting coil apparatus, electromagnetic force is generated in a coil 3, and superconducting wire material 1 moves. As the result, friction heat is generated, but it is diffused in the horizontal direction as shown by arrows by the effect of material 5 of high thermal conductivity, so that the friction heat scarcely travels in the vertical direction, i.e., in the superconducting wire material 1, so that the temperature rise of the wire 1 can be avoided, and the quenching phenomenon caused by friction heat can be prevented. |
