PURPOSE:To individually adjust irregularity of the right and left of a row piece, by fixing the end of each side piece in about U shaped parallel plate spring member to the base of the jig for lapping, making the connection part vicinity of a medium piece and both side pieces freely movable vertically by an adjusting member and fitting a work holder which holds the row piece of a thin film magnetic head on the medium piece. CONSTITUTION:The height is adjusted without changing the inclination of a row piece 16 whole body by adjusting the right and left both adjusting members 62, 64 in the same direction in the same quantity. The row piece 16 is inclined by adjusting the adjusting members 62, 64 in unbalance. A throat height can be worked in a high accuracy and at high speed by grinding and polishing with the use of a surface grinder, surface lapping machine, etc., by correctly adjusting the irregularity of the right and left of the row piece 16 individually respectively in the right and left. Also nondefective rate in a piece of the row piece 16 is good and the yield can be increased. |
