The opening in the block makes it possible for the block to open and the leg of the patient laid on it, after which the elasticity of the material allows the block to come together and enclose the lower leg and foot of the patient without other fastening devices. The foot and lower leg of the patient are so applied in the device that the lower leg rests in a horizontal leg-shaped narrowing recess providing support up to the knee joint whilst the patient foot lies in a vertical position where it rests without contact with the floor but preventing the outward rotation of the foot blade in relation to the leg. |
