PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for the revision of an optical attenuator in response to the length of an optical cable by adopting this system such that the optical transmission intensity of an optical transmitter is automatically corrected so as to input an optical signal with a proper intensity to an optical receiver. CONSTITUTION:A 1st optical transmitter 1 sends an optical signal to a 2nd optical receiver 4 through an optical cable 2 while a 1st optical transmitter 1 changes the optical transmission intensity hourly in the optical transmitter/reception system in which a 1st equipment 300 provided with the 1st optical transmitter 1 and a 1st optical receiver 8 and a 2nd equipment 400 provided with a 2nd optical transmitter 5 and the 2nd optical receiver 4 are connected by optical cables 2, 6. The 2nd optical receiver 4 decides whether or not the light reception intensity of the optical signal to be sent is within a proper range of the optical reception in the 2nd optical receiver 4 and when the optical reception intensity is within the proper range, the 2nd optical transmitter 5 sends it to the 1st optical receiver 8 through the optical cable 6 and the 1st optical receiver 8 activates the holding means of the 1st optical transmitter 1 when it is received that the intensity is within the proper range to keep the light transmission intensity of the 1st optical transmitter 1 constant. |
