PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition, comprising follicle-stimulating hormones(FSH) different in blood plasma half-life as separated components and effective in a process for secretion of a single dominant follicle. CONSTITUTION: This composition comprises the first component containing an FSH having a relatively long blood plasma half-life and about <4.3 isoelectric point and a phermaceutically permissible carrier and the second component containing an FSH having a short blood plasma half-life and about >5.5 isoelectric point and a pharmaceutically permissible carrier as separated components. Furthermore, a medium component containing an FSH having a medium blood plasma half-life and an isoelectric point between about 4.3 and 5.5 is preferably contained. The composition can be prepared by carrying out an isoelectric focusing of a conditioned culture medium prepared from a transformed recombinant cell. A preferred therapeutic embodiment is administration of the first component for the initial 3-5 days of an ovulation cycle, the medium component for the next 6-10 days and the second component on the final day in a daily FSH dose of 70-300IU. |
