Magnetic-field sensor which uses, as sensor, an amorphous ferromagnetic wire with helical anisotropy. It consists basically of a hollow cylindrical matrix 1 of non-magnetic material on which two coils are wound coaxially and independently, one for detection 4 and another for compensation 5, while, in its core, a wire of amorphous magnetostrictive ferromagnetic material is set up, with helical anisotropy, appropriately twisted and whose state of tension is maintained with the help of end cheeks 7-7' suitably fixed to the matrix 1. A predetermined alternating current flows constantly through the wire 6, which generates a constant and constantly analysed voltage in the detection coil 4. In the presence of a disturbing external magnetic field, this voltage will vary and any such variation is compensated for by means of the application, to the compensator winding 5, of a current which directly supplies the value of the abovementioned disturbing external field. <IMAGE>
