PURPOSE:To shorten the time required to complete the correlation processing of all blocks by dividing a reference part into plural blocks, and regulating the area of a reference part to be correlated to the respective blocks so that defocusing quantity detection areas of the respective blocks overlap with one another. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with a 1st line sensor 12 which receives a 1st image and outputs a 1st image signal corresponding to the light distribution pattern of the image, a 2nd line sensor 14 which receives a 2nd image and outputs a 2nd image signal corresponding to the light distribution pattern of the image, and a dividing means which divides the 1st image signal into plural blocks. Further, the device is equipped with a correlating means 16 which finds the correlation of the 1st and 2nd image signals, block by block, and a control means which controls the area of the correlation of the respective blocks with the 2nd line sensor 14 when the correlation is found by the respective blocks so that the detection areas of defocusing quantities detected with the respective blocks overlap one another. Consequently, the processing time can be shortened. |
