<p>PURPOSE:To easily obtain the subject compound useful as an immunosuppressing agent in short steps by using a specific compound, its gamma-lactone compound or the compound protected with a protecting group as a starting raw material and subjecting the compound to Clemmensen reduction reaction. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound of formula II (R<2> is alkyl or alkenyl) can be produced by using a compound of formula I (R<1> is alkyl or alkenyl having carbonyl group in the chain), its gamma-lactone compound or the compound protected with a protecting group as a starting raw material, subjecting the compound to Clemmensen reduction reaction in an inert solvent using e.g. zinc amalgam and hydrochloric acid and, as necessary, subjecting the reaction product to gamma-lactone ring cleaving reaction and/or deprotection reaction. The starting raw material is preferably a gamma-lactone compound having protected N and O and produced by treating myriocin of formula III with acetic anhydride in pyridine.</p> |
